Description
An emerald heart glistening in the sunlight...This leaf is of the Royal Paulonia tree, which is also called an Empress tree. These leaves will grow to 28" across! They are like giant elephant ears. I used to bring them to the younger art students to do rubbings of and I could never find paper large enough except for the kind on the big rolls. This is a young leaf, only about 10 inches across. I will post another later to show the size of these. In the North it is very unusual to have a tree with giant leaves as you would see more commonly in the South.
