Artist's Description

You are seeing the illusion of a tree in pink sand. You are actually looking into a large blown glass egg that I made which is about 7 inches tall and 4 inches thick. You are seeing the imagery of a tree I create by working in layers in hot glass on a four foot glassblowing pipe. For FAA my goal is to bring an illusionary image that only the thickness of 3D glass can create. You are entering into the piece without seeing all of the edges. I made this piece and it's mate (see the winter image) so that different seasons of the year could be represented within the glass. I sold many of these one of kind large glass eggs in the past. My hope is to bring the same 3D affect to you in a 2D image.

About Judy Via-Wolff

Judy Via-Wolff

I have a great love for nature and all God's creation. In any artworks or photos I create, I try to reflect a moment of fleeting beauty as all things are but for an instant. I love to paint and use pastels. I paint in oils, acylics, and water colors depending on the piece. I also pursue the medieval technique of egg tempera painting.I also have begun digital painting which I create from scratch with a stylus. Photography also provides an instant in time. Judy has a BFA and a Masters Degree From RIT"S School for American Craftsman and Fine art. She spent many years as a glass artist and was able to reflect the light and colors of God's creation through this medium. She won many awards over the years and enjoyed creating new works...
