Description
These golden red vines crawling up the "tree of life" in my own backyard caused me to stand in the rain just to try to capture not only the garden and trees but also falling leaves. Easier said than done! I call this the tree of life because twice it was cut down and grew back majestically. Then it spontaniously combusted from the trunk which used to be much larger. This fire caused a rush of firetrucks to my backyard to put out the flames before they burned the power lines you see in the photo. The tree persevered and my husband filled in the fence where it burned away and the larger part of the trunk had been gutted by the fireman. I grew up in this house and we moved here to care for my Mom and now we have stayed. So you see this tree has history! Of course I look at it all symbollically as we persevere through life. Wish I had photos of the tree blazing at the edge of the forest but the danger overpowered the moment!

Judy, this story gave me goose bumps, a realy apt name for it. And a beautiful shot.

Thanks Sharon, I may post another photo of it with finer detail. It was raining and high winds when I took this and not as clear as I'd like. Unless that somehow comes across in the photo, I don't know.
