Artist's Description
It seemed important to capture these steps. A kind of stairway to heaven but first you must enter by the gate. I had that feeling when I climbed these very steps in the Carribean. I hope they give the feeling of wanting to ascend.......
About Judy Via-Wolff
I have a great love for nature and all God's creation. In any artworks or photos I create, I try to reflect a moment of fleeting beauty as all things are but for an instant. I love to paint and use pastels. I paint in oils, acylics, and water colors depending on the piece. I also pursue the medieval technique of egg tempera painting.I also have begun digital painting which I create from scratch with a stylus. Photography also provides an instant in time. Judy has a BFA and a Masters Degree From RIT"S School for American Craftsman and Fine art. She spent many years as a glass artist and was able to reflect the light and colors of God's creation through this medium. She won many awards over the years and enjoyed creating new works...

Wonderful work, Judy .... passages are so powerful!
Therese Alcorn
Judy, your passageway is so very inviting - I just to wander right through that archway and up the stairs and see where it leads me. The movement you've captured in the tree is lovely also!! v/f

Amazing mood, poetic indeed...

Yes, that's a word, Judy and I love it even more now. :)

Judy, I love this Passage. It is simple but not simple because the meanings are diverse. It appears welcoming with the light at the top but there's trepidation involved through cracks and maybe hidden dangers on the stairs. The palm at the top seems healthy and bright but the other plants have a little bit of wither on them. Can you tell I used to be a journalism major so I did a lot of creative writing and reviewed lots of books? ;) Anyway, I love it. I love that it makes me think and evokes several different reactions and feelings so FAV/Vote.
Judy Via-Wolff replied:
Thanks Lil, I love poetic insightfullness! (Is that a word?)

Judy, this is beautiful. I am into photography but not painting, but I love the framing effect here with the leading lines within the frame leading to the sky. Lovely.
