Description
This year I did not see any butterflies except the fluttering white ones in my yard. I only let my indoor cat out once a year while I keep my eye on him. Surely he leaped into the air after this swallowtail which perched high up in the dogwood tree. You can tell that it is late in the season as the dogwood leaves are turning colors and the berries are ripe for the squirrels. It was a long shot literally as I had no tripod but still managed to zoom in on this little beauty before winter sets in. Made my day! I thank my Maine Coon cat for finding me a butterfly!

I haven't seen many of these this summer either - sadly I think we are losing our butterflies almost as fast as the bees. But I'm so glad you caught this beautiful image Judy. Lovely, lovely work. F/V
