Description
This is the view from the 3rd floor window in the hall next to my classroom. I like the perspective of the 3rd floor and this very old church which is in the very heart of the city as is my school. From this vantage point I can see architechtural details that I wouldn't see from the ground. I enjoy watching how the light changes the color of the stone and walls all through the day. I decided to work with just four colors and try to capture this view of this old church called Aenon, with as little detail as I could forseeably get away with.
This church is also involved in extensive outreach throughout the city for many outreach ministries to the poor. Many of my students attend this church. Very sadly after I had started painting this a young girl only 17 was found brutally murdered in Rochester. The young man who did it turned himself in. She had been missing for days and many of my students were friends with her or her family. When I was almost finished with the painting the funeral took place here at this church. Therefore I would like to dedicate this painting to the memory of Larie. I didn't know her personally but I teach many girls her age and the light should never go out of the eyes of one these beautiful young people...

Thanks Sharon, appreciate, I still need to rephotograph this so that the side don't look curved from the wide angle lens!

I like that line Marsha, "Life is emotional, as is art..." You said that very well. I bet you were a wonderful influence on those girls...Hugs, Judy
