Description
I have tried for many years to attract hummingbirds however I was not very successful. This year I planted a special area devoted to trying to attract these mesmerizing little jewels. In this part of Upstate NY we have ruby throated hummingbirds. I have only had females so far come to my garden and feeder. I have been quite thrilled to watch and "try" to photograph these little jewels. I call them jewels because of the iridescent glow to their feathers. I find them extremely difficult to photograph however I wanted to post a few in a new folder for hummingbirds only. A friend of mine helped me with the right plants etc. and I feel so blessed to see the little creatures and they seem to know me for some reason...

Beautful! (by the way, Judy, do you know NeatImage software? I had the same "noise" problem, (normal when you take photos in bad light or moving like a hummingbird!) and it can ameliorate the image...Fine art america they are not severe but there are some stock agencies they reject your image for noise...) fav and v.

Nicely done! Like the split in colors of the background and the sense of movement in the hummingbird. v/f
