This is a geodetic survey marker that is placed at the highest point of each mountain. It is illegal to remove or disturb them in any way. This one was placed on top of this mountain in the Adirondacks in 1942. When we climbed this mountain last week (July 2013) and we found the marker you get a great feeling of relief and accomplishment.
I have a great love for nature and all God's creation. In any artworks or photos I create, I try to reflect a moment of fleeting beauty as all things are but for an instant. I love to paint and use pastels. I paint in oils, acylics, and water colors depending on the piece. I also pursue the medieval technique of egg tempera painting.I also have begun digital painting which I create from scratch with a stylus. Photography also provides an instant in time. Judy has a BFA and a Masters Degree From RIT"S School for American Craftsman and Fine art. She spent many years as a glass artist and was able to reflect the light and colors of God's creation through this medium. She won many awards over the years and enjoyed creating new works...

Thanks Ion, besides the fact of "getting" to this marker, I also thought it was an "artistic image"!
