Lowtide Carribean Pastel

Pastel - Pastel
Description
This is a pastel I did of a view of the beach at lowtide when sands appear that are otherwise hidden under high tide. My favorite colors were naturally apparent. I am having a hard time photographing this to get the colors right. This is the closest so far but I will keep trying and if necessary change the image to accomadate.

Judy, I love pastels. I can see how you worked this painting. No easy task. Underlaying and then working up the many colors is quite an accomplishment, blending being done mainly on canvas, not like the other medias. Like you I have difficulty getting a true pic of the gorgeous colors of my pastels, except if I have a professional take it. Beautiful painting!!! f/v

Thank you Judith, Pastels lend themselves to drawing, blending, layering, and texture. they are kind of like paint with extra controls. Try It, you'll like it!
